venuemix aims to make venuemix.info usable on any device, in any browser and with any assistive technology. This statement sets out what has been done, which shortcomings remain and how to report a problem.
Our approach
We regard accessible pages as ordinary maintenance work at venuemix rather than an additional feature. Every new page and every change to the design is checked to make sure the text remains readable, the navigation remains usable without a mouse and no information is carried by colour alone. The statement applies to venuemix.info only.
What we do
The website uses semantic HTML with a clear heading structure, one main heading per page and link texts that make sense on their own. Navigation and main content are marked as separate regions, each page states its language for screen readers, and images that carry information have text alternatives.
Text, links and buttons are shown with a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against their background. Sizes are set in relative units, so text can be enlarged in the browser without content being cut off, and links, menus and form fields can be used with the keyboard alone.
Conformance
We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. At present this site is only partially conformant: most content satisfies the guidelines, while the points listed below do not. Where a requirement cannot be met immediately, we look for another way of supplying the information.
Known limitations
A number of illustrations are generic, and their alternative text names the subject instead of describing it in detail.
Feedback
Please report any accessibility problem you encounter by email to hello@venuemix.info or by telephone on 01522 570134. A short description of the page, of the difficulty and of the device or assistive technology involved allows us to reproduce the fault. We normally answer within five working days and explain what we intend to do about it.
Information in another form
This website is not the only way of obtaining information from venuemix. You can telephone us on 01522 570134 during normal business hours, write to hello@venuemix.info or send a letter to 14 Brayford Wharf North, Lincoln LN1 1YW. Where a page is not accessible to you, we will read the information out by telephone or supply it in plain text form.
Preparation and review
The present statement was prepared on 28 October 2026 on the basis of our own internal assessment. We inspected the principal page types with a keyboard, at an increased zoom setting and with a screen reader; no external audit was commissioned. The statement is reviewed once a year and after any substantial change to the website.
